Paderborn IT Security Day
The 20th Paderborn IT Security Day will bring together researchers and practitioners to explore current challenges in IT security and exchange experiences across academia and industry. The CCAT team at UPB will contribute with a session on TLS-Scanner.
The Paderborn IT Security Day will take place on September 1–2, 2026. Organized and hosted by the Digital Security competence center of the SICP – Software Innovation Campus Paderborn, the event will bring together experts from different areas of IT security to discuss current topics, challenges, and solutions. The first day will feature scientific, technical, and application-oriented presentations, while the second day will offer interactive workshops. The event aims to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience between business and higher education, provide an overview of current IT security challenges, and initiate new collaborations.
As part of the event, the CCAT team at UPB will organize a workshop on TLS-Scanner titled “Practical Analysis and Evaluation of TLS Deployments,” led by Felix Lange and Sven Hebrok. Participants will analyze TLS connections using Wireshark and gain hands-on experience with TLS Scanner for systematic analysis of TLS configurations, including scanning vulnerable test systems and evaluating results against BSI and NIST guidelines. The workshop will also cover advanced features and research topics, including client scanning, policy validation, QUIC/DTLS analysis, and integration of TLS-Scanner into broader security ecosystems.
